Asia's First Fully Automated Container Terminal

2017, Asia's first fully automated container terminal was put into operation at Qingdao Port, marking China's entry into the world's leading ranks of port automation technology. Behind this milestone project lies Weilong's JD5 series central collector technology, providing stable and reliable power transmission for the terminal's rotary equipment.
Project Background
Qingdao Port's fully automated container terminal is a world-leading intelligent port project, achieving fully automated operation of core equipment such as bridge cranes and rail-mounted gantry cranes. As a dedicated power feed device for large-scale rotary machinery, the reliability of the central collector directly impacts the terminal's operational efficiency and safety.
Weilong's Solution
The JD5 series central collector supplied by Weilong is capable of transmitting voltages of 24kV and below along with varying current levels, delivering power stably through rotary conductors to rotary electrical equipment. The product has undergone rigorous testing and demonstrated outstanding performance under high-frequency operation and high-current conditions.
Project Results
  • Enabled fully automated operation of bridge cranes and rail-mounted gantry cranes at Qingdao Port
  • Central collector operated stably with a zero-fault record
  • Provided valuable experience for subsequent global automated terminal construction
From the dawn of electrification to the era of smart ports, Weilong has been both a witness and a builder. This project is merely a microcosm of our continuous refinement and advancement in craftsmanship.
